Our Christian School Vision is central to all we do and underpins all aspects of inclusion.
Our Inclusive Approach
At St Alphege, we believe that every child is unique, and their individual strengths and abilities should be celebrated. Our inclusive approach to education ensures that all students, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, have equal opportunities to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Collaborative Partnership with Parents
We recognise the crucial role that parents and guardians play in the educational journey of their children, especially those with SEND. Open communication and collaboration are fundamental to our approach. We encourage parents to actively participate in the planning and review of their child's SEND support, ensuring a partnership that fosters success.
Personalised Support Plans
For students with SEND, we create personalised support plans that outline specific strategies and accommodations to facilitate their learning and development. These plans are designed in consultation with parents and guardians, ensuring a collaborative and holistic approach to meeting the individual needs of each learner.
Transition Support
Smooth transitions are vital for the well-being and progress of students with SEND. Whether transitioning from nursery to infant school or from junior to secondary school, our practitioners works closely with parents and receiving schools to ensure a seamless and supportive transition process.
Contact Us
If you have any questions or concerns related to SEND at St Alphege Infant and Nursery School or St Alphege Junior School, please do not hesitate to contact our dedicated SEND coordinators. We are here to support you and your child on their educational journey.
We firmly believe in developing strong relationships with all stakeholders and that in turn this will enable children and young people with SEND to achieve their potential. The school recognises that parents/carers have a unique view of their child’s needs and working together ensures that key information is shared and the child is at the centre of all partnership.
Where appropriate staff of both schools within the Federation signpost parents to the Special Educational Needs and Disability Information Advice and Support Service (SENDIAS).
