Art and Design
At the Schools of St Alphege we believe our Art curriculum should allow children to explore the embodiment of some of the highest forms of human creativity.
Through providing opportunities to reach their full potential. We believe that art gives our children first-hand experience, experimentation and development of ideas and skills using a wide range of resources. We aim to teach our children the progression of a full range of knowledge and skills needed and promote breadth and balance in their work. Within our art curriculum, children are given opportunities to develop their understanding of a range of artists and discuss how art and design has shaped our History. Children are encouraged to participate in creative processes through which they can communicate ideas, explore spirituality, express their feelings and make personal connections with the world both independently and collaboratively. Our vision is that pupils will embark on a personal artistic journey and will leave our school with the ability to communicate what they see, feel and think through the use of colour, texture, form, pattern- using different materials and processes.
