Public Consultation on Admission Arrangements for 2026-27
In accordance with the School Admissions Code 2021, the Schools of St Alphege
is required to consult on its arrangements at least every seven years or where changes to the arrangements are proposed.
Our draft Admissions Policy for the academic year 2026-27 is available to view below and a copy is available from the school office.
There are significant changes in the proposed policy.
Draft Admissions Policy 2026 - 2027
Comments are welcome on any aspect of our admission arrangements and can be sent via email to Alison Vining, Clerk to the Governing Board at avining@solgrid.org.uk or directly to either school in a sealed envelope marked Consultation on Admission Arrangements, for the attention of Alison Vining, Clerk to the Governing Board.
This consultation process will run from 04 November 2024 to 16 December 2024. Once the consultation has closed, comments and feedback will be considered by the Governors.
Nursery and Reception Admissions
If you would like to apply for a Nursery place starting in September 2025 you should apply directly to the school using the Nursery Application Form below. Applications will be accepted between 1 September 2024 and 1 December 2024. Offers will be made by 31 January 2025. It is possible to apply after this date, but you will only be offered a place if there are spaces available, otherwise you will be put on our waiting list. Children born between 1 September 2021 - 31 August 2022 start Nursery in September 2025.
Children born between 1 September 2020 – 31st August 2021 start full time school in September 2025. If you would like to apply for a Reception place at St Alphege C of E Infant School, this needs to be done through Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council admissions. You can use the link below to apply.
The closing date for Reception applications is 15th January 2025. The offer date for Reception places will be 16th April 2025. Places are allocated according to our admissions policy (link at the bottom of the page). It is possible to apply after this date, but you will only be offered a place if there are spaces available, otherwise you will be put on our waiting list.
Appeals
If you are not offered a place at this school, you have the right of appeal against the decision not to allocate a place to your child. Appeals are heard by an independent panel. You can get an appeal form from the Infant School Office on 0121 704 0443 or 80office@stalphege.solihull.sch.uk or the Junior School Office on 0121 704 2714 or 81office@stalphege.solihull.sch.uk as appropriate.

Appeals received after the closing date will be heard within the schedule, if possible.
However, if the form is received in late June the appeal may not be heard until after the school summer holidays. Appeals are not heard during the school holidays.
Admissions for other Year Groups
If you have a child in education who requires a school place during the school year (moving to a new area, change of circumstances etc), parents will need to contact the Solihull School Admissions Team on 0121 704 6693. They can advise you of schools in the area with spaces available or add you on to our waiting list. You will also need to complete a Supplementary Information Form if you wish to apply under the oversubscription criteria relating to Church attendance.
